Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of São Paulo : ウィキペディア英語版
Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of São Paulo

The Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of São Paulo ((ポルトガル語:Eparquia Nossa Senhora do Líbano em São Paulo)) ((ラテン語:Eparchia Dominae Nostrae Libanensis Sancti Pauli Maronitarum)) is a diocese of the Maronite Church, based in the city of São Paulo, in the Ecclesiastical province of São Paulo in Brazil.
==History==
On 31 May 1962, Pope John XXIII established the Maronite Apostolic Exarchate (the equivalent in the Eastern Churches of a Vicariate Apostolic) for Maronite Catholics in Brazil and appointed Bishop Francis Mansour Zayek to head it. He was the first Maronite bishop to serve outside of the Middle East. He was officially an auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro, and titular bishop of Callinicum dei Maroniti.〔(【引用サイトリンク】work=Catholic Hierarchy )
Zayek served as bishop for the Maronite Catholics of that country until 1966, when he was transferred by the Holy See to the United States.〔 He was succeeded by Bishop Jean (João) Chedid.〔
On 29 November 1971, Pope Paul VI raised the exarchate to the rank of an eparchy.〔
